Include Yourself in Your Schedule

There’s nothing like Christmas and the new year to make you feel great and enjoy spending time with your loved ones. It’s also the perfect excuse to refocus, recharge, and spend some time investing in yourself so that you look and feel your best self. Therefore, it’s an ideal chance to start planning your 2019 plans so that you can continue to feel gorgeous through January and the year ahead. The beginning of any month is the chance for a fresh start, so why not make next month all about you, and focus on the things that will make you happy.

Whatever area of your life that you feel is holding you back; start thinking about how to change it today so that you can get the confidence boost you need. Planning changes and improvements for your year will ensure that you enter it with a spring in your step and will be able to tackle anything the year throws at you. You’ll want to be motivated and make your health, happiness, and well-being your top priority for a successful future. The following are some areas to consider for those who want a positive start this month, and some ideas about how to focus your plans and gear your actions towards helping yourself feel great.

Schedule in Self Care

Whether it’s going to take a few regular trips to the hair salon, a consultation with a reputable dentist, or choosing to floss your teeth with water more often; make the new year a time to give yourself that extra bit of confidence. If you’re unhappy with any part of your appearance don’t be afraid to make changes if you want to. As long as you’re doing them for yourself there’s no harm in trying a new style, dealing with a feature you think needs improving, or upgrading areas of your wardrobe. If you can smile each time you pass by a mirror; who knows what positivity your new demeanor will bring to your life.

Find Satisfaction at Work

Maybe it’s your everyday tasks at work, your work/life balance, or the salary that’s bringing you down; ensure that you know your worth and make the most of your abilities during the new year so that you can get job success and satisfaction in 2019. Start planning out your resume and think about the direction you want to head in; perhaps there are certain things that you want to achieve in your career, or maybe you want to start a new career. Maybe you want to work from home or start a blog like this. Whatever your goals are for the year, make sure you lay out the steps to ensure you reach them.

Be Social

Make time to be social and I am not talking about Instagram; make time for friends IRL.  While you are planning out the year add in some fun time every week. Making a standing date for breakfast or lunch once a week with a co-worker, go shopping with your bestie, have a monthly dinner party at your place, or go to one of those paint and sip classes like Uncork and Create.   Get outside, go for a hike, watch a sunset, or maybe have a barbeque. It doesn’t matter what you do just make sure it’s fun, involves other people, and happens IRL, not on the net.

Start prioritizing your life and setting realistic goals.  A planner or bullet journal will help you to achieve all that you want from life, so be proactive and start now with writing yourself into your hectic schedule.

  1. It’s definitely true that we should take care of ourselves or we’ll have nothing left to take care of others. We do matter.
