Single-Story Extension
One of the easier extensions you might want to think about adding to your home is a single-story extension. As the name suggests, in this structure there is only one story, which can be helpful when it comes to gaining planning permission to have it done. This is an easy and relatively affordable way to add layout and space to your home, without encroaching on the exterior too much. You could use this to expand a kitchen or add a bedroom, for instance, and in both cases, you will be adding significant value to the home as a whole.
Flyover Carport
Because you have a trailer, RV, or caravan that you want to have stowed at your home safely and away from the weather. If so, then you could consider installing a flyover carport on your home. This is essentially a structure that goes over the roof of the home and the carport, but you have a lot of added roof space here, so it’s great for larger vehicles – and it also provides a lot more light and air to the feel of the home’s exterior too. Take a look at some designs and see whether they might be appropriate for your needs.
Wrap Around
A wrap-around addition is probably the number one option to consider if you are keen to add a lot of space to your home. It will usually have a rear and side return, giving you a useful L-shaped space that might be very versatile. If you want a lot of space and the freedom to do what you want with it, then this is something to think about having installed. A wrap-around can be truly enormous, and it’s a big undertaking, so make sure that you are ready for it before you get started.
Two-story Addition
And of course, if you want to go all out, then you might want to consider opting for a two-story addition. With this, because you have two stories, you of course have a lot more space, and you have many more options for what you can do with it too. However, because it is easy to build and it’s a normal shape, it can often be more economical on the whole than many other kinds of additions, so that is something to think about if you are keen on trying this out on your own home sometime soon.
