For those of you who read my blog, you know I like to do these little vignettes or scenes as a writing exercise. I like to share them and get your input. Here is one I did for today.
It was a hoarder’s paradise. From the open door, she saw piles of trash and what appeared to be animal carcasses. She also saw that needles littered the floor. Was this a shooting gallery or a taxidermy shop? Exactly what had she stumbled into? As she peered through the cavernous darkness of the abandoned house she noticed a faint red light in the distance. It wasn’t a steady beam, more like a slow flash. Should she check it out or not? Being a fan of slasher movies she knew this scenario all too well. Lone female appears at an abandoned house under some pretext, enters and is never heard from again. Nope, she was not going to be the girl killed in the opening sequence. It was not going to be her no matter how much razzing the guys on the force were going to give her. She decided it was not worth her life to see what that light was. She walked back to her patrol car and radioed for backup.

I agree with Kari – the song “Should I stay or Should I Go?” is now an earworm for me. I liked the imagery in the story, and I agree with the protagonist. I would definitely GO!
