Until you decide that you are no longer willing to live your life just being comfortable, you will not step into that new life. You have to decide for yourself that where you are is not where you want to be. You have to decide what you want your life to be. The power is with you. No one can decide for you. You have to take a good look at your life and ask yourself a few questions.

  • What do I want my life to look like?

  • What really makes me happy?

  • In 10 years, I see myself doing what? living where?

Really think about your answers. Don’t just say  “I want more money” or “I want to hit the lottery” Think in concrete terms about things you can accomplish. If you want more money, think about how to get that money. Is it a new job or a new career? What are the steps you need to take to have that new career? What can you do today to start you on that path toward your future? See yourself in that office, writing that book, creating that art, living that life. If you need some inspiration to get you started why not take a look at some thoughtful quotes from Albert Camus, sometimes, reading inspirational poetry can help us identify our values and what matters to us in lifeEnvision your future and then step into it.

  1. I have many wishes, yes. But in this society, wishes don’t come true without money, to be honest. At least I can’t think of one thing that does not require money.

  2. I really need to look at what truly makes me happy and do those things. So many people think money and fame bring happiness, but that is not the case for me.

  3. What a true statement! You can’t ever get anything accomplished unless you take that very first step in the right direction!

  4. I want to travel to Japan and stay there for a month. I want to gain momentum in a career that uses my college degree and allows me to make good money.

This post really hit home. I would hope that in a few years we will have all our debt paid off. To me, this will be happiness.

  6. When I was younger I moved around a lot but now that I live with my soul mate for the last 18 years I’m sticking put. Well, until I get my hands on enough money to move back south.

  7. i live in india nd no matter what i will stay here.my dream is to visit las vegas once i get enough money saved in my account.cheers

  8. I would like to be able to live not just to survive. I would like to have more money but there is small hope of that. I do rescue work its never endeing

  9. I would like to tour the northeast and see the lighthouses up there. That is a big dream for me. A more practical plan is in working on the house. We would really like to add on to our garage and make a laundry room out there.

  10. I am commenting again on this one.I wonder if I am too old, if I have settled, many things really. I dont have much and wonder if its worth wanting more sometimes. I have the basics thugh, and who am I trying to keep up with?

  11. This is such a deep and meaningful saying. These are great questions and it’s always productive to be looking towards the future and bettering yourself as a person.

I love the adage. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I appreciate your sharing it with us today.

  14. I just shared my post from a few months ago about making goals on the Traffic Jam Link-up. I basically wrote about the things that make my happy, and what I would like to spend my life doing. I am planning on writing an update/progress post in the near future. I set a big goal when I wrote that post (one I haven’t verbalized to anyone yet), and although I am not quite there, I am working very hard at achieving it. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going 🙂

  15. No plan ever happened without intention. Thats why its so important to make plans and goals both short term and long term. I thought I was done making plans and goals (particularly big ones) after college. I was so wrong. Life is just not like that. You should never stop or you will not have anything to live for.

  16. This quote is so true! I’m 47 years old & still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up. 🙂 My husband farms so we feel like we’re “stuck” here but we are thinking of building a house on the farm; so I will be help him more. I never thought I’d be marrying a farmer, let alone married to a farmer. But we just celebrated our 27th anniversary and the farming life is where I belong. I can’t wait to move over there.

  17. These are thought-provoking questions and not ones I can answer here today, but I am definitely going to put some thought into it and make sure I am on track; if not, make adjustments. Thank you.

  19. I completely agree, attitude is everything, and the right motivation is so important. Self awareness and knowing what makes you happy and focusing on making that work is absolutely key, but often quite difficult to pinpoint. Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  20. I really want/need to have a level of ease and comfort in earnings to really feel better. I have to support my family and at the cost of work-life balance… it’s such a struggle TY! #fortheloveofBLOG xoxo
