Positive Thinking For The Future

Think positively, then everything will be fine, then you can move freely and carefree into the future. It would be nice.  Can I change my future through positive thinking? Can I control my thoughts through positive thinking? It may not be believable but when we put things into perspective and look at what is important in life, we can tackle anything. Attention to the negative

Havener thinks that positive thinking also includes the current state, which may not be felt so positively. Thus, attention is not only focused on the positive but also on the negative. Our brain cannot distinguish between positive and negative. If we anchor an image that we don’t want too strongly in the brain, it unfolds the same power as the consciously impressed images.


Is there a particularly appropriate time when you should plan for the future? There can be very different moments in life when planning the future – it is never too early or too late for that. It can be events or periods of life in which a change is imminent or where a person has big plans and needs support for it. The birth of a child can be a good opportunity to reflect on the prospects for that child in life. 


A point in time that is often taken as an opportunity to plan for the future is the end of school when you are thinking about how to continue professionally. Growing up is also a phase of life in which to deal with other questions: How do I actually want to live? How do I want to spend my free time and shape my relationships? But it can also be the case that an older person wants to plan for themselves, for example, because the transition to retirement is imminent or because the question is how a person wants to spend the last years of their life.

These changes in life can sometimes be critical moments. These crises then give rise to thinking about certain issues. However, personal planning for the future is not a crisis intervention or even replaces a therapeutic setting. It is important to make that clear.

How does personal future planning work?

First of all, a person must learn about personal future planning, want to change something in their life, and be curious about such a planning and change process. Then there is usually one or maybe several preliminary talks. These preliminary discussions take place with a person who is well versed in personal future planning and ideally can also be used as a moderator for a planning process. The future doesn’t have to be scary or uncertain but it can in fact be easy. Once you adopt positive thinking, you can look forward to a happy future.
