Beavers Bend a Hidden Gem in Oklahoma

Updated -

Looking for a girls getaway or a family vacation, why not check out Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma. I know, for many of you Oklahoma isn’t the first state that comes to mind when you think vacation but you would be surprised what it has to offer.

The Beavers Bend area is a hidden gem located just a few hours from Dallas in southeast Oklahoma along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River. If you like hiking, boating, golf, flyfishing, bird watching, camping, or just hanging out in nature, then this would be a great place for you.  Just check out this amazing video.

Beavers Bend provides as much outdoor adventure as you need but if you are like me and enjoy hanging with your girls around a campfire but don’t really like the whole roughing it thing, then you will want a nice cabin with all the amenities of home. Comfy beds, full kitchen, hot water, and most importantly a modern bathroom so you want to make sure you don’t get stuck in a “rustic” cabin with no running water and a raccoon sleeping under the bed.  You want to choose the right cabin and here are a few things to look for when booking a cabin.

How to Choose the Right Beavers Bend Cabin

If you are looking forward to getting away and spending some time in a calming environment where you are surrounded by nature’s beauty, you are going to need to start looking at the different types of Beavers Bend cabin rentals. Some cabins are more spacious and may come equipped with even more amenities, so finding out information on your options is the easiest way to decide which place to book for your next vacation with your loved ones.

How to Find the Best Location

Having an amazing view is likely at the top of your priority list. You want to have that opportunity to enjoy the scenery while you are eating, relaxing in a hot tub, or even sitting outside of the cabin while roasting marshmallows over a small fire pit. Find out what the view is like from some of the different cabins that are currently available for rent. You may notice that some of these rentals are conveniently located by small bodies of water where you can hang out and get wet with your loved ones, spending most of your days outdoors. Even if you are going on your vacation during a time when the weather is much colder, you may still care about the kind of view you will have from your cabin.

What Amenities Do You Need

Not exactly sure what you want or need in a rental, but know that you would like to feel like you are right at home while you are there? If so, you can start looking at a list of different amenities that are preferred during a stay at a vacation rental. Some of these amenities may include having access to a swimming pool, hot tub, fresh towels to use each day, wireless internet for easily connecting from your phone or electronic device, a fireplace to sit by at certain times, and a whole lot more. While you are looking at a list of the amenities that are commonly sought after in vacation properties, you can figure out what you want the cabin to have before you even book one for your next vacation.

These are just a few of the questions you should ask when looking for a cabin. It depends on your needs and what you are looking for. Just remember, nothing makes more memories then times spent together with friends and family out in this wide wonderful world.  Go explore Oklahoma and any of the other states you never thought of.  Come back and let me know what you find.
