Back pain is, well, a pain to deal with. No one enjoys suffering from bad back pain every day of their lives, and as we get a little older it seems to be something which affects us more frequently. If you seem to be suffering from back pain every other day and you need some help to make it stop, here are some of the simple things you can do to keep your back in check and soothe those annoying aches and pains.

1. Release Endorphins


Endorphins are a hormone found in the body which can double up as a natural painkiller. These little gems are actually just as strong as taking prescription drugs and they are all natural. The good news is that one of the best ways to release endorphins into your body is by eating chocolate. But let’s face it, do we really need a reason to eat chocolate?

2. Have a good night’s sleep


Sleep is something which far too many of us take for granted and we never seem to get enough of. It is crucial for our body to get some sleep after a long day as it gives out body chance to recover and repair. If you have insomnia, chances are you also suffer from back pain because two-thirds of people with back pain cannot sleep. It is important therefore if you always struggle sleeping to try and address this issue and speak to a doctor if you need to. It could be something as simple and getting a new mattress and it could make all the difference.

3. Core exercises

One of the best ways to cure back pain is actually to get u and exercise your middle. 4. Heat packs

We all know that there are two different types of packs which we can put on our bodies when we have an injury: a cold pack and a heat pack. For chronic back pain which won’t go away, the best thing for you to use is a heat pack. Heat packs are designed to sit on the point of pain and increase blood flow to the area as well as inhibit pain signals from reaching the brain. This low-level heat can be a game changer and it can allow you to enjoy much better mobility.

5. Stretch your hamstrings

Our hamstrings are the muscles which sit behind our knees and run all the way up our legs. They are the muscles we stretch to let us touch our toes and do the splits. Hamstrings can have an effect on the back because of where they are located and this is why stretching them out can make a positive impact on your back. You can spend just one minute twice a day stretching these muscles and it will make a good difference to your muscles.
