Spider veins run up her thighs and disappear somewhere under her skirt. She hates this uniform. She hates this job. She hates the smells and the noise. Most of all she hates the guys in the back. They are always screwing up her orders and causing her to lose tips. Tips are what she lives on, because God knows no one can make it on a waitress salary.
When she gets home tonight, she will soak her feet and put them up while she watches TV and eats bonbons…. yeah right. When she gets off work she has to do the laundry, the dishes, the cleaning, and the grocery shopping for the week. Then she has to check the kids’ homework and pack their lunches for school. After she gets them out the door she may have time to get a few hours of sleep before they get home and she leaves for work.
Working evenings is hard but you make the most tips at dinner rush and from the drunks who come in hungry from the bars. Thank God Walmart is open 24 hours or her kids would never eat or have toilet paper. She hates Walmart on principle but she has no choice but to shop there. Where else can she grocery shop at 3am when she gets off work.

Oh I can relate about the spider veins. I have had them all my life and recall my mom had them too, very ugly.
I found your blog through a post at online sweepstakes. I just thought it was cool that you were from WV also. I live in the southern half of WV. I have been blogging for over 10 yrs and way back when, I never used to come across anyone from WV who blogged. Now its a lot more frequent but I always like to stop and say hi.
