Just in time for my birthday, I received my very first Vox Box from Influenster. Influenster is a “community of trendsetters, social media hotshots, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences.” In exchange for our opinions and reviews, we receive complimentary full-size products to test and review. We get to participate in twitter chats with celebrities and experts, enter fun contests and giveaways, and receive special discounts on featured brands and services.
The box I received was called the #BellaVoxBox and contained wonderful items to pamper yourself including chocolate and wine. Exactly what a woman needs to celebrate her birthday which also happened to be Mother’s Day. Here is a video of the unboxing of the #BellaVoxBox by my two daughters.

Mascara and lipstick was a great treat. Being over 45, I thought I was too old to wear red lipstick anymore but once I put the lasting finish lipstick on, I felt beautiful and flirty. I loved it and I think it looks hot. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you are too old to wear red. I am rockin’ my new red now every day and loving it. I put it on in the morning and it lasts all day even through lunch. It has a deep, rich pigment and a matte finish which was new for me. Loved the mascara also and the broken heart brush makes it easy to get every lash. The mascara was not waterproof so I had a little issue with it running as it is allergy season. It washed off easily and did not irritate my eyes. The most surprising thing about the mascara and the lipstick both was the smell. They smell amazing, unlike other cosmetics I have tried.
What Else Was in the Box?
There was a coupon for Club W, a wine club that is personalized for your unique palate. They have wines starting at $13 a bottle. there was also an eBay Guides Campaign which paid you $25 to write an eBay guide.
Dove Fruit – fruit covered in Dove chocolate, need I say more. Yum! They come in three varieties – cranberry, cherry, and blueberry. My daughter enjoyed the blueberry that came in the #BellaVoxBox so much that we went out and bought the cranberry.
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs is an instant tanner. Not really a tanner but more like make-up for your legs. The shade that came in the box was medium, which was too dark for my fair Irish complexion. My daughter who has a darker skin tone tried it out. It went on like a lotion (foundation makeup) and washed off with soap and water leaving no stains or tan behind. Not sure how it will hold up to daily wear as my daughter did not like it and washed it off shortly after applying it. I found it a little strange myself. I was expecting more of a tanner type product but this was more like makeup for your legs.
Not Your Mother’s Deja Vu Do Style Extender We had mixed reviews on this. It weighed my hair down and made it very flat. My youngest daughter used it and got great volume and the style held all day, however, it dried her hair out. My other daughter with the thick curly hair tried it and said it dried her hair out also.
I had a great time trying out all the products and participating in the twitter chat and other social media. Can’t wait to get another Vox Box and find out what great products are inside.

That’s an interesting concept. I’m not big on most of these products, but it’s a process that fits with the times.
