Pursuit of the Perfect Sentence

Pursuit of the perfect sentence,

the perfect paragraph,

or the perfect chapter has been the downfall of many writers.

I have to make sure I do not fall into the trap of chasing the elusive perfect sentence, paragraph, chapter, novel. I have to know that as the writer I will always find fault in my own writing, fault that others will never find.

I have to trust in the process, know that it is good enough and let it go into the world into the hands of readers. I have to write and write a lot

and get lost in the process to actually discover myself

and then once I have written myself onto the pages

then I can let it go.
